Our shuttle bus will take you to the Castellana Caves in an hour, where you have the opportunity to book a guided tour that will take you on an adventurous journey underground through this cave complex. These caves were first explored in 1938, although their existence had been known since the 18th century. At a depth of 60 metres, you will be amazed by the spectacular halls full of alabaster stalactites and stalagmites, in which calcite crystals are embedded. Once back on the surface, head for Polignano a Mare, a pretty town perched on top of a rocky promontory, from where there is a splendid view of the sea. Explore the quaint alleyways, stroll under the finely decorated arcades, and enjoy the spectacular view from the terrace overlooking the sea.
